How Many Bottles Cologne Should A Man Own?

In regards to cologne, the average person should own 14-16 bottles. This is because most men are more attracted to light scents and will not be interested in heavier fragrances like eau de parfum or citrusy smelling ones.

How many bottles of cologne should a man have? is a question that has been asked in the past. The answer to this question can be found on reddit.

I’ve often questioned how many colognes I should own as someone who enjoys them. So I thought about it for a while and came up with this.

This might be as little as one or as many as you desire. Any number has benefits and purposes, but having more than one is encouraged. This is due to the fact that you may change them up and select a perfume that is appropriate for the occasion.

I understand how difficult it may be to choose the proper cologne. There are a lot of considerations to make, so I’ll go through several alternative cologne combinations.

Why Do You Need Several Colognes?

Cologne is a must-have in my opinion. A cologne is something that distinguishes you from the crowd. Have you ever passed someone and thought to yourself, “Wow, he smells fantastic.” That, too, is something you can accomplish. It’s really rather straightforward. You go out and get some cologne. If you’re anything like me, you’ll be addicted in a matter of days and need more.

I thought I’d be set for a while when I bought my first cologne. But, as I already said, I received many more. As a result, I decided the scent I would wear that day based on a number of variables. When it was chilly outdoors, I automatically chose a warmer, sweeter perfume than when it was bright and sunny. I wore a completely different scent when I went partying than when I went to school.

I decided to do some study after finding that I used one fragrance largely when it was chilly and the other usually when it was warm. I discovered that various colognes fit different circumstances. This is why I recommend that you purchase many bottles.

It is up to the individual to choose how many they should have. Every combination has its own set of advantages. However, I believe that having more than one may help you advance. So, let’s begin with getting one.

Having Only One Cologne Bottle

This is most likely where you’ll begin. It’s tough to choose only one cologne. It’s the equivalent of just wearing one outfit for the remainder of the year. You must be certain that this fragrance is a true all-star. It must function in every scenario since it will be your only one. It must function in both hot and cold conditions. It must function both in a private and public context. It must function in all four seasons.

Fortunately, there are a number of scents that will work well in this situation. Consider a perfume like Dior Sauvage, which may be used in a variety of situations. But that’s the problem with having just one. It performs well, but not flawlessly. Because of all the varied seasons of the year, it’s a good idea to narrow it down a little (spring, winter, summer, autumn, day, night, cold, warm, clubbing, etc.).

Having Two Cologne Bottles

Even having two different cologne bottles makes a big difference. You may start by separating it into a cold-weather and a warm-weather scent. This has already made a significant effect. In the summer, fresh, clean citrus aromas are preferred, whilst in the winter, spicy and sweet scents are preferred. Using two different smells as a base is wonderful. You may narrow your focus even more from here.

As I already said, warm weather favors fresh, clean, and zesty smells. These are a great complement to the warmth and won’t offend anybody. Warm-weather colognes include Acqua Di Gio Profumo, Bvlgari Aqva Amara, and Davidoff Cool Water.

Spices and sweet smells are especially popular in the winter. These smells will keep you warm in the cold. Winter days often give me a warm sensation, and scents like Valentino Uomo and Viktor and Rolf Spicebomb perfectly complement this atmosphere.

Summer and winter perfumes are essentially the same in terms of warm and cold weather scents. My summer scent recommendations can be found here, and my winter fragrance recommendations can be found here.

It ultimately boils down to separating the hot and cold seasons. This is, without a doubt, the most well-known of them all. However, this does not rule out the possibility of narrowing your focus any more.

Adding a Third Cologne Bottle

You may be more particular when using three colognes. You may begin experimenting with various colognes.

I’d start with a winter/clubbing scent first. This may be the same as the last one, or you can be creative and choose one that leans more toward clubbing. Paco Rabanne One Million is one of the most popular. Again, choose a scent that is appropriate for the chilly weather and nightclub setting.

You should pick a scent for your second bottle that you will wear throughout the day. Consider a fragrance like Prada l’homme or Chanel Bleu de Chanel. This is the one you’ll be wearing the most. It should have a fresh, unobtrusive scent that is appropriate for wearing to school or the workplace.

In terms of the third, I’d suggest opting for a more personal scent. It’s something you’d wear on a date. This fragrance should have a seductive and appealing scent. Consider Carolina Herrera Men Prive or Yves Saint Laurent La Nuit De L’Homme, two of my personal favorites.

The Fifth and Sixth Bottles

Now that you’ve broken it down a little, you can become a little more particular. Split your winter/clubbing fragrance, for example, and choose two separate scents. If you’re looking for a winter scent, try Valentino Uomo, Viktor and Rolf Spicebomb, or Jean Paul Gaultier Ultra Male. Invest in a great nightclub scent like Paco Rabanne One Million or Versace Eros. There is never a shortage of things to do.

Of course, some will be the same as the three bottles we described before. I’d suggest purchasing a cologne that can be used in a variety of situations, such as the one you’d choose if you just bought one bottle. These colognes are a must-have whether you just have one or more than three. It’s simply a basic, pleasant-smelling scent that you may wear while you’re in a rush or performing mundane tasks like grocery shopping. Again, something like Dior Sauvage or Allure Homme Sport comes to mind. Also, I’d suggest going with the daytime bottle we mentioned earlier—something like Prada l’homme, which you’d wear to school or the business. Of course, you’ll want a beautiful winter cologne as well.

Adding Even More Cologne Bottles

You may keep adding colognes for various occasions from here. I could go on and on about how to split things down, but the truth is that it all depends on your lifestyle from here. You may purchase a suit-friendly perfume or something special for the holidays. Get a fragrance that you can use while working out. You might also begin experimenting with specialty scents like as Creed Aventus. Experimenting with two different winter colognes or two different daytime colognes is also a great thing to try. As I previously said, the choices are unlimited, and there are hundreds of distinct perfumes to choose from.

Associated Issues

Is it vital to have a variety of colognes? No, it’s not required, but it’s something I strongly suggest to everyone who wants to scent more intriguing and sophisticated. You’ll have a lot more ways to express yourself now.

Is it necessary to use deodorant and cologne at the same time? Yes, but use a deodorant that has no odor. It’s a pity if your cologne’s wonderful aroma gets mixed up with your deodorant’s.

This is a question that many men ask themselves. They want to know how many bottles of cologne they should own. This answer will be different for everyone, but I believe the number to be around 6-7. Reference: colognes every man should own.
